Finally, A Korean Male Model Worth Talking About!
Feb 25th 2013
Hilarious how the one outfit I didn’t even try to dress up or think about is the same one that was picked to be a part of Forever 21′s dapper dudes from NYFW blog. Lesson learned: the less you care, the more others care? And how apropos that I discovered this as I’m in LA–so quintessentially Forever 21?
I digress! This post is not about me–*gasp*!
‘But David, You’re SO self-centered, I cannot even imaging you wanting to share your spotlight,’ I’m sure you, readers, are asking. Ha! Only for special cases.
Which this is. The above was actually a a great segue to the real purpose of this post–Male Model of the Month! As I browsed through the Forever 21 website I was pleasantly surprised to see that this new Korean model, Sung Jin Park, was the brand’s newest face.
I actually came across Sung Jin, 22, first at New York Fashion Week when he stood out among the other models at DKNY Men’s (you can read my review here). Whenever I go into a show men’s I don’t expect Asian male models to be so striking. So when I saw Sung Jin standing during the presentation–smoldering among his cohorts– I immediately turned into a proud Korean. Sung Jin–signed under Wilhelmina–has tats galore, his hair is cut in a fade, and looks every bit a Williamsburg broheim. I love his “I-really-don’t -give-two-flying-f***s” look–too cool.
Later in the week, I ran into Sung Jin again at General Idea where he sported two different looks. I know that he’s fashion’s next big face and you heard it here first.
Sending shots of Soju your way, SJ!
